Fluidmesh Networks recently announced that they have provided the police department in Birmingham, Mich., with a city-wide video surveillance system.

Fluidmesh, along with Abel Electronics, began working on the project last spring after Birmingham Chief of Police Richard Patterson decided that the police department needed a surveillance system to aid responding officers.

Not only does the system offer a view of a potential crime scene, but it also helps control traffic flow in the downtown area.

In a statement issued by the company, Patterson said that "by using a direct line of site," Fluidmesh has allowed the department "greater flexibility" in where they can place their cameras and repeaters.
