Command Information announced earlier this week that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Virginia-based information security firm Idealogica.

As part of the agreement, Command Information will retain Idealogica’s staff, intellectual property and its government and commercial customer base.

Idealogica’s CEO, Chris O’Ferrell, will reportedly become Command Information’s vice president of security services and head up the new network security practice.

In prepared statement, Command Information CEO Jerry Edgerton said that he wanted to ensure the company’s customers that their IPv6 enablement wouldn’t compromise network security and that O’Ferrell, along with the Idealogica staff, had the "expertise required to assist in this regard."
